Hello, I'm Nicole and owner of Soul Shutter Photography. Photography is a passion and a love that I enjoy to its fullest. I specialize in studio work, but specifically pet photography in studio. Pets are fun and challenging all at the same time. Being an avid animal lover, capturing images of owners pets is heartwarming and thrilling.

Here is a little back story about myself and how I got to where I am currently. I am originally from Canton, Ohio. I joined the United States Marine Corps in 2004 and was then sent to Okinawa, Japan once I graduated boot camp. My eldest son, Patrick, was born while I was stationed on Okinawa. In 2006, I was then stationed to Camp Lejeune, NC. I married my husband, Konnon, in 2009, we worked together. I then got out of the Marine Corps in 2010 and my husband got out later that year as well. We moved to Hickory, NC in late 2010. I decided to got back to school for a degree in Healthcare Management. We found out we were pregnant with our second child in March of 2014. I continued with classes up until our daughter, Vanellape, was born in November 2014. We then found out in February 2014, that we were pregnant again with our third child. Our son, Hurcheal, was born in October 2014. After he was bornI decided to take a small break from classes to be at home with our children.

In the summer of 2015, my husband told me I needed to go back to school and finish my degree. I was tired of the Healthcare Management and I wanted to get myself in a job profession and I would not be stuck in an office day in and day out. There has always been a passion for photography, I just never thought to pursue it. I enrolled in the Associate in Applied Science in Photographic Technology program at Catawba Valley Community College. I graduated in May 2017 with an Associates in Applies Science in Photographic Technology.
